Daniel Baldwin and wife to divorce
Just a few months after actor Daniel Baldwin filed for divorce and then revoked his divorce complaint, his wife has submitted divorce papers. Local media reports that the couple’s efforts to work out their differences were unsuccessful, and that they have been living apart for some time.
According to family court records, Baldwin, 51, filed for divorce in July of this year, asking the court for sole custody of the couple’s two daughters, who are two and three years old. In his complaint, Baldwin accused his wife of making violent outbursts after she had been drinking, which reportedly caused him to fear for his safety and for the safety of the children. He also sought a restraining order. All of those court filings were ultimately dropped.
Police records indicate that Baldwin’s 41-year-old wife, a former model, spent a week in jail in July in relation to a prior drunk driving conviction. She also had her probation extended by two years and was required to wear an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet for an unknown period of time. It is believed that the couple attempted to reconcile following her stay in jail.
However, those efforts were apparently not successful: last week, Baldwin’s wife filed for divorce in Oregon, where the couple lives. In her complaint, she requests custody of the children, as well as $4,000 per month in child support and half of her husband’s earnings. Daniel has not yet responded to the divorce filings, either in court or to the media.
The Baldwins were married in 2007, marking Daniel’s third marriage.
