Andrew L. Kynaston

Andrew L. Kynaston is a partner at Kainen Law Group, PLLC, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He has practiced  exclusively in the area of Family Law since 2002, handling high asset divorce litigation, child custody disputes, post-divorce litigation, protective orders, paternity matters, Family Law related jurisdictional disputes, minor guardianships, adoptions, and premarital agreements.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), an ‘AV’ rated attorney through Martindale-Hubbell, and a Nevada Board Certified Family Law Specialist.  He was designated a Mountain States “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers each year from 2010 – 2013, and thereafter has been named a Mountain States “Super Lawyer” each year since in 2014.   He also has received a 10.0 “Superb” ranking by Avvo.

Andrew is a former Chair of the Las Vegas Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society (JRCLS) and later served as the Area Director for the Southwest Region of JRCLS, including responsibility for overseeing JRCLS chapters in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern Utah.  In December 2013, Andrew was recognized by Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada as the “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year.” Andrew is also currently a Barrister in the Howard D. McKibben American Inn of Court, and has been appointed twice by the Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Family Law Rules Committee.

Andrew served for one year as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Gerald W. Hardcastle in the Eighth Judicial District Court-Family Division, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  While clerking for Judge Hardcastle, he drafted a procedural manual for use by the Foster Care Review Board (an organization established to assist children who age out of the foster care system), and assisted Judge Hardcastle in the development and implementation of the Truancy Court Diversion Program now in place in the Clark County School District.

Andrew is a graduate of the ABA’s Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute – – an intensive eight-day program designed to enhance the skills and competence of trial lawyers who practice in the area of Family Law.  Andrew also served as a board member on the Publications Development Board of the American Bar Association’s Section of Family Law from 2002 through 2010.

Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Brigham Young University in 1998, and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, graduating Cum Laude in May 2002, and earning a Certificate in Family Law.  During law school, Andrew served as the Student Editor-In-Chief for the ABA’s Family Law Quarterly law journal.  Andrew was also selected during law school as the 2001 – 2002 law student liaison to the American Bar Association’s Section of Family Law.

Andrew and his wife Amelia, are the parents of eight children — three girls and five boys.
