Friend of Amber Heard supports her in abuse claims
Readers of this blog are probably familiar with the recent scandal pertaining to actress Amber Heard and her husband Johnny Depp. The scandal erupted following Heard’s claims that she was domestically abused by Depp while he was intoxicated. A close friend of Heard — who called 911 for Heard — recently told reporters what happened.
The friends aid that she called 911 because Heard would not have done so herself. She claimed that each time her friend was physically abused, her friend’s husband (Depp) would later apologize sweetly and swear that he knew how bad his behavior was and that it would not happen again. According to Heard’s friend, the violence began when Depp kicked her friend on an airplane. Then her friend started getting shoved and punched, and an alleged assault took place in December that resulted in Heard’s pillow being stained with blood.
Heard’s friends said that she witnessed the pillow herself, saw her friend’s hair on the floor and saw her friend’s bloody and swollen lip. She said that Heard contacted her crying and screaming after the incident had happened. According to the friend, she herself had difficulty seeing Depp as an abuser because he was her friend, but eventually, Heard confided in her about what was happening.
Domestic violence is pervasive around the world, and even though the law protects its victims, and family law protections can be filed to ensure that an abused person is no longer threatened by his or her abusers, many abused persons are mixed up in a difficult-to-end toxic relationship. Sometimes, in these situations, victims need psychological and legal support in order to find the power and courage within themselves to put a stop to it. If you know someone who is suffering in an abusive marriage or relationship right now, please encourage them to get the help they require.
